This is one of my favorite notes–and one of the first ones I wrote–because of the hope that it extends to each of us and the responsibility that it gives us. Everyone you meet–the jerk who tailgates you all the way to college, the guy who says “bless you” after you unleash a nasty spray of death on a crammed bus, your most treasured mentor, your beloved mentees–everyone is loved infinitely by God and has an irreplaceable role to play in His story. What’s better is it’s true for you, too; God created you, loves you more than you can imagine, and gave you a lead role. No one can replace you. God wrote this part just for you. Loving others is much easier when we think about them in this context. Give it a try and tell me how it goes!
